Extended Deadline of Registration

Hello debaters,

Here, we provide you with the important dates of this competition. We are glad to announce that the deadline of registration has been extended until April 21. Ensure that your team is registered before the deadline of the registration.

The Announcement for secure slot* and promoted waiting list teams, in case that there are still some caps left for the main list.

Who are eligible for this competition?

Hello debaters,
Here, we are glad to inform you the criteria of the debaters who are eligible for the 2nd National Newbie Debating Competition. Due to the frequently asked question that is delivered by some of you, we will make it clearer especially regarding the definition of the national competitions you've participated in.

What we mean by national competitions are competitions that meet these criteria:

1. It is participated by 15 teams at minimum from different institutions/region.
2. It is held consistently. It means that the competitions are held regularly for instance, anually.

Some of the instances of the competitions that meet these criteria are: IVED, JOVED, ALSA UI, BAWOR CUP, ALSA UNPAD, Fouders Trophy and of course, NNDC 2012.

Therefore, if you find yourself ever join any debate competitions that meet with this criteria and your teams were breaking on that competitions main category, you are no longer eligible.

Added to this, if you were breaking but in Novice Category, you'll still be accepted. However, we do not allow the teams who were breaking into SEMIFINAL Novice Category in that competition to register in 2nd NNDC 2013.

Hello Debaters,

This is the official website of 2nd National Newbie Debating Championship (NNDC). NNDC is a debate competition using British Parliamentary (BP) format that is held annually by English Debate Society (EDS) UNY. This competition will give you many opportunities to newbie debaters to advance their skills in debating. There will be many debaters coming from different cities in Indonesia competing tightly to grab the trophy.

A year ago, The first NNDC was successfully conducted and participated by many competitive newbie debaters from different cities. This year, we welcome you all, not only from Java but also outside Java, to participate and enjoy competing. The competition is to be held in May 2013.

Yogyakarta

Yogyakarta, the venue of the competition, will be an attractive place to visit. There are many tourist destinations that provide unique cultures, life style, as well as having many delicious traditional foods. You will get an unforgettable experiences after the competition.
