UI defend the Champion title, UGM claim the Best Speaker

After two days of tight competition, finally, there were four best teams breaking to final round of 2nd NNDC 2013. They are UGM B, UNDIP A, PARAMADINA A, and UI A. The motion for the final round was 'THBT all funds and resources allocated to mitigate climate change should be redistributed to researchers and preparations of colonizing other planets as a new home for humankind. UGM B (Mariette Wahyuningsih and Sufi Adenda) was acting as Opening Government, UNDIP A (Rafinata Fasihani and Temi Chintia Risva) became the Opening Oposition, Paramadina A (Retno Dewati and Putu Lumina Mentari) and UI A (Tanita Dhiyaan Rahmani and Divio Alfath) were acting as Closing Government and Closing Opposition respectively.

After a tight debate, UI A claimed the champion of 2nd NNDC 2013 followed by UNDIP A in the 2nd rank, UGM B in the 3rd, and Paramadina A in the 4th. This was following the success of Eds UI in the 1st NNDC in which they claimed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd rank in the final round as well as topping the best speakers list. This year, however, the best speaker title was grabbed by UGM team. Sufi Adenda got the best speaker title followed by her teammate, Marriette Wahyuningsih in the 2nd rank.

Announcement Regarding the Schedule

Hello Debaters!

Here, we would like to inform you some important information regarding the schedule of the competition.

1. We would be grateful if you really study the schedules and the details we provide before.
2. We would like to remind you that the re-registration will be started at 13.00 WIB. Therefore, I suggest for you who are Muslims to have Jumat Prayer around the UNY campus. It would be better if you come to the campus before Jumah Prayer and do prayer in Masjid Mujahidin UNY.
3. We provide you the city tour on the day 2. The bus will pick you up in at UNY and drives you to Malioboro. We provide you two hours to have fun there. You may visit some interesting sites, such as: Keraton Yogyakarta, Benteng Van der Burg, Alun-Alun utara. After that, the bus will pick you up and drive you back to UNY to have a Gala Dinner and Breaking Announcement.
4. Due to the tight schedule, we regret that we do not provide you another time to back to lodging or wear another dress before Gala Dinner and Breaking Announcement.

Things to be Brought in D-Days

 Hello Debaters,

We would like to announce that because this competition is not an open debate competition, we require you all to bring the official institutional jacket with you. All the debaters will be required to wear the institutional jacket in the opening ceremony of the competition.

In addition, we would like to remind you that all participants are not allowed to wear mini skirt nor skinny-transparency dress. For the men participants, you should wear long trousers. You will not be allowed to wear sandals.

Due to the number of registered teams above, we still have caps for the institutions who want to apply. In other words, we open the second phase of registration. It start from April 22, 2013 to April 26, 2013 (payment on April 27, 2013). For those who want to apply, you can download the registration guidelines and follow the flow of registration. As what has been mentioned in the guidelines, you should complete the registration form, send it to our email, and confirm to our registration officer, Astri Ollivia (0857 3500 8338). However, each institution is allowed to registered maximally 3 teams.

For those who registered and verified as our participants, as what has been mentioned in the list above, please follow the steps below.

1.       First, pay the registration fee (Rp 375.000,00) through:

PS: You can start to pay on April 23-25, 2013. If you pay more than April 25, 2013, your position as participant will be changed with other institutions.

3.       Finally, confirm to our registration officer, Rizki 0857 2990 8870. Mention your name and institution (e.g. UNY A) and state that you have paid the registration fee.

4.       Update the information of NNDC from our blog. It might be changed if it is necessary.
